Where does the Concat download come from?

Every button on this page points to the official Concat GitHub releases at https://github.com/jub0t/Concat/releases. The Concat developers also run their own site at concatenate.pages.dev. We are an independent guide, so we do not host, repackage or modify any Concat video editor files.

Downloading from GitHub means you get the exact build the developers published, along with a SHA256SUMS file you can use to check it.

Is the Concat video editor safe to install?

The code is open source under AGPL-3.0, so anyone can read it, and the builds come straight from the project on GitHub. The installers are not code-signed yet, which is why Windows and macOS show a warning the first time. That warning means the developer has not paid for a signing certificate. It is not a virus alert.

If you want to be sure your file was not changed on the way, compare its SHA256 hash with the one in SHA256SUMS. Each platform page shows the command.

Do I need to download anything else?

The Concat app installs on its own. The AI features use models you download once from Settings: Whisper for captions (78 MB to 488 MB), a voice model for text to speech (98 MB to 1.1 GB) and a 15 MB model for background removal. After that they work offline.
