Concat 0.2.7 files for Linux
Released October 13, 2026 on the official Concat GitHub page. Use the .deb on Debian or Ubuntu, the .rpm on Fedora or openSUSE and the .pkg.tar.zst on Arch. The AppImage runs almost anywhere without installing.
How do you install the Concat video editor on Linux?
- Download the package for your distribution from the official Concat GitHub release.
- Install it with the matching command below, or make the AppImage executable and run it.
- Open Concat and download the models you need from Settings.
How do I install each Concat Linux package?
Run the command for your package from the folder you downloaded it to.
# Debian, Ubuntu
sudo apt install ./Concat-0.2.7-linux-x86_64.deb
# Fedora, openSUSE
sudo dnf install ./Concat-0.2.7-linux-x86_64.rpm
# Arch
sudo pacman -U Concat-0.2.7-linux-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst
# AppImage
chmod +x Concat-0.2.7-x86_64.AppImage && ./Concat-0.2.7-x86_64.AppImageHow do you check the download?
Put SHA256SUMS in the same folder as the file you downloaded.
sha256sum -c SHA256SUMS --ignore-missing The official hashes are in SHA256SUMS on the release page.
Does the Concat video editor need a GPU on Linux?
No, but it helps a lot. We ran Concat 0.2.7 on a machine with no graphics card. It fell back to Mesa software rendering, printed a warning that the window would render slowly, and still edited and exported. A 32-second 1080p export took about 40 seconds. Background removal analysis took several minutes on the CPU.
Is there a Flatpak?
A community Flatpak is listed on Flatpark. It wraps the official x86_64 .deb of each release. It is not published by the Concat developers.
The AppImage will not start. What now?
Most distributions need FUSE 2 for AppImages. Install libfuse2, or run the AppImage with --appimage-extract and start the extracted squashfs-root/AppRun instead.
What should you set up after installing?
Open Settings and download the models for the features you plan to use. Captions need a Whisper model, text to speech needs a voice model, and background removal fetches a small model the first time you use it. See auto captions and fixing text to speech for the details.
